FOET / 0.5B (incl. CA-EBS & NOG Supplement)
The OPITO FOET/NOGEPA 0.5B is a refresher course for those who already have followed the BOSIET/0.5A Training. A refresher course for offshore staff and staff employed in the maritime industry, to refresh survival techniques, medical knowledge and survival at sea. The FOET (with CA-EBS) is open to persons who have a valid (in-date) OPITO-approved BOSIET (with CA-EBS), BOSIET, TBOSIET, FOET (with CA-EBS), FOET or TFOET certificate.
The purpose of the FOET & NOGEPA 0.5B (inc. CA-EBS & NOG Supplement) course is to refresh and update the delegate’s knowledge and ability in order to protect his/her safety in an emergency situation. The training consists of the following refresher modules:
- Safety Induction
- Lifeboat Theory/Practice
- Survival Theory/Practice
- Helicopter Safety/HUET & CA-EBS
- First Aid
- Fire Fighting
The course duration of the FOET & NOGEPA 0.5B (inc. CA-EBS & NOG Supplement) training is one day and the course will be provided in groups with a maximum of 12 participants. The course consists of a theoretical and a practical part.
Successful delegates receive an OPITO certificate Further Offshore Safety Emergency Training (OPITO code 5850; FOET) incl. CA-EBS and a NOGEPA certificate Refresher Offshore Safety Introduction and Emergency Response Training (NOGEPA 0.5B) incl. CA-EBS. Both certificates have a validity of four years.
This course is provided in English. Upon request and in case of a sufficient number of delegates, the course can be provided in Dutch.
The training takes place at DELTA Safety Training in Rotterdam. DELTA offers a fully indoor training venue with all necessary facilities for a safe and comfortable stay, including a heated indoor pool for Maritime and Offshore courses.
Conditions for participation
The delegate needs to be in possession of a valid OPITO BOSIET or FOET and NOGEPA 0.5A or 0.5B certificate (3 month window prior expiry) and a valid OGUK Offshore Medical or a NOGEPA Offshore medical certificate. If the medical examination is performed after March 31st 2018 the medical certificate or sticker in the green safety logbook needs to state that: delegate is FIT TO TRAIN IN-WATER CA-EBS or UNFIT TO TRAIN IN-WATER CA-EBS. If the medical examination is performed prior to March 31st 2018, the lungfunction test needs to be done prior to the start of the BOSIET/FOET/HUET course. We can provide this at our training centre, but must be done before the start of the course.
